About Me
Coach Brandon Payne has spent the last 8 years as the Head Girls Track
& Field Coach At Horizon HS in Scottsdale, AZ. During this time he has
also held the titles of Head Strength Coach as well the Defensive
Backs Coach for the football team. This comes after doing a brief
internship for the Arizona State University Sun Devils Sports
Performance and Strength and Conditioning Department. Prior to that,
in 2016 Payne served as the Offensive Graduate Assistant Coach for the
Lake Erie College Storm (D2) in Cleveland, Ohio. During his time at
Lake Erie Payne coached the slot receivers and running backs. Before
joining the Lake Erie College staff Payne spent 2 years coaching the
wide receivers at Capital University (D3) in Columbus, Ohio from
2014-2016. While at Capital University Payne also served as the teams
Academic Coordinator. Before being hired at Capital Payne collected a
wealth of coaching experience at the high school level. From 2010-12
he was the assistant coach for both the track and field and football
teams at Hoover High School (Calif.). With football, Payne oversaw the
defensive backs and running backs at the freshman and junior varsity
levels. In 2012, he moved on to Bonita Vista High School where he
operated as the varsity defensive backs coach. He held the same
position at Clairemont High School in 2013. Over that time, Payne also
volunteered as a coach with i9 Sports in Chula Vista, Calif. in its
youth flag football, soccer, and basketball programs.
Payne, earned a Masters Degree in Sports Management from American
Public University in 2015 and prior to that earned his bachelors in
applied sport psychology from National University in 2013. This came
after spending time studying at The Ohio State University.
