 About Me
Hi, my name is Maya Sheppard. I am a rising Junior and I play Wingback for Fusion FC BCSPL with the versatility to play Full Back and Forward. I think my best strengths are my speed and my agility. I am quick! One of my strongest skills is that I am left and right footed and that means I can play left, right, either wing, defense, and I think that's definitely an asset to a lot of teams, because I am very flexible in where I can play. But honestly, if mt coach needs to put me anywhere, I am always willing to try new things. I definitely want to continue to get quicker and I want to continue to work on my ball skills as well, because my playing style definitely includes both of them. I like to control the field. There's no point in making plays and just giving them up and giving the other team the opportunity to come at us. Soccer isn't just a game to me; it's been a lifelong passion that's taught me resilience, teamwork, and the value of perseverance. From playing for Fusion FC 2008 BCSPL Team in British Columbia to coaching in the "Sister Kicks Program," I've embraced every opportunity to grow and give back to my community. I've never let anything deter me from my goals. Alongside my dedication to soccer, I'm drawn to the fields of Sports Management, and Entrepreneurship, seeing them as avenues to merge my passion for sports with business and leadership. As I embark on this journey, I'm excited for the opportunities ahead. With determination as my compass and passion as my driving force, I'm ready to make an impact both on and off the field, eager to embrace whatever challenges and triumphs come my way. - Reading of the Game - Does well seeing the first level of pressure and making appropriate decision on the ball.

Maya has such a great personality that she brings to any team as she is coachable and puts her team first. She is willing to help and play any position that you put her in. I believe she can play either at an outside back or winger position. She has such a bright future ahead of her and any program would love to have her on their team.
